Chemical peels provide incredible results for skin concerns on the face, however skin concerns and conditions can go beyond just the face. VI Chemical Peels offer a unique blend specifically for the treatment of any skin concerns that present anywhere on the body. Skin on the body is different than the face, now a solution for concerns like, body acne, scaring, pigmentation, signs of aging and more can be targeted with a deeper and more effective treatment

Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a therapeutic method to help rejuvenatea the skim which removes the damaged layer of skin. A chemical is applied to the damaged area of the skin with this treatment, and as a consequence, the dead skin eventually peels off. A new layer of skin that emerges after a set amount of time appears younger, smoother, and wrinkle-free.

Commonly used to treat:

These are commonly used to treat wrinkles, sun-damaged skin, and scars on the face. These are also effective in treating dark spots and age spots. Other Conditions include:

  • Fine lines around the eyes (crows feet)

  • Fine lines around the mouth

  • Wrinkles

  • Mild scars

  • Sun damage

  • Age spots

  • Melasma

  • Uneven texture

  • Mild acne

What to expect:

Patients will have a consultation with a provider, which includes a review of their medical history; in addition, there may be a need to perform a screening test to assess the skin's sensitivity or determine whether the individual is allergic to chemicals. If everything is OK, the procedure will begin by carefully cleansing the skin region using antiseptic substances. After cleaning, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, trichloroacetic acid, lactic acid, or carbolic acid are used on the skin.

Types of Peels

Alpha-hydroxy acid peels are popular in dermatology clinics because they provide cosmetic and therapeutic advantages to the skin while requiring little recovery time. These peels are considered superficial chemical peels and can treat all skin types and keratinization diseases. Glycolic acid is currently the most commonly used peeling agent. Lactic acid, another AHA, has also been widely utilized as a peeling agent.

Glycolic acid AHAs can easily penetrate the skin, depending on the carrier, formulation, pH, place of application, and skin state. When selecting glycolic acid as a peeling agent, it is critical to realize that the carrier, formulation, and pH are critical to the peel's success.

Risks

A chemical peel is a safe dermatological procedure; however, some skin types may experience a transient or permanent color change as a result of the therapy. There may also be some scarring, which can be effectively managed. Finally, if you have a history of herpes outbreaks, you may be at risk of cold sore reactivation.

Post-Treatment

While there is a low risk of adverse effects, there will be a need to adhere to skincare post-treatment for a few days or weeks due to its sensitivity. Post-treatment there will be some restrictions, such as limiting outdoor activities to minimize sun exposure to avoid any burns or irritation to the skin that could worsen pigmentary problems. Glycolic acid is now combined with an amino acid, such as arginine to create a time-release system that reduces irritation while maintaining glycolic acid effectiveness.

Dermaplaning

Skin is subjected to a lot of harm over the course of a lifetime, including UV damage and exposure to dirt, pollution, extreme weather, and harsh chemicals. Due to a layer of dead cells cluttering the outer surface, you may end up with imbalanced skin that seems dull, aged, and lifeless. A non-surgical skin rejuvination treatment can be used to remove these damaged skin cells, allowing the skin to renew and heal. Dermaplaning is the name for this technique. Women and men in Tucson who want to improve the tone and texture of their skin can do so by having a trained and licensed cosmetic professional exfoliate it, gently removing the top layers of skin as well as dead skin cells, dirt, and other impurities. This gives your skin a brighter, more youthful appearance.

Dermaplaning treatment is part of the chemical peel service and is done prior to any of our chemical peels. You can however have dermaplaning as a solo treatment or you can add this on to any injectable botox or filler services.

Dermaplaning solo treatment $110.00

Dermaplaing add-on with other injectable treatments (botox/filler) $65.00
